JASPER — A driver noticed going left of center Friday night was ultimately accused of impaired driving.
A Jasper Police Department officer observed a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser go left of center multiple times at 10:16 p.m. beginning in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road. A traffic stop followed in the 1100 block of East 15th Street.
Police say the driver, Juan A. de la Rosa, 49, 3828 N. Portersville Road, Jasper, had a blood alcohol content that registered .151% on a certified breath test. Police also allege de la Rosa was driving while having never been licensed.
Authorities booked de la Rosa into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:31 a.m. Saturday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and driving while having never been licensed. He posted bond early Saturday afternoon.
