Learn to assess acute, chronic trauma

JASPER — A free educational program that provides a new paradigm for assessing acute and chronic trauma will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the Arnold F. Habig Community Center, 1301 St. Charles St.

Sue Gipson, RN, CHPN, will speak about at-risk populations that would benefit from Soul Injury Restoration. Among them are victims that have experienced childhood abuse; people who experienced heartache due to health, loss of a loved one or betrayal; veterans, veterans’ families, civilians who experience a warzone and first responders and families; cultures that hide or are ashamed to express pain; and personal or professional caregivers vulnerable to burn-out or compassion fatigue.

Reservations can be made by calling 812-482-3322.

The event is sponsored by Kindred Hospice and Vincennes University Jasper Campus.
