Leander H. Kitten, 80, of Ferdinand, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Leander was born May 13, 1939, in Ferdinand to Anton and Emma (Horney) Kitten.
Leander retired at Lockheed Aerospace Corporation, Skunk Works Division. He was a member of a professional group “Road Runners International.”
Leander was a member of Christ the King parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Leander enjoyed genealogy and bicycling. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his twin sister, Leona Schue of Ferdinand; and several nieces and nephews.
Leander was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Albert, Leonard and Ralph Kitten; and one sister, Mary, who died in infancy.
Funeral services for Leander H. Kitten will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 21, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Burial with military graveside rites will be conducted by Ferdinand Legion Post 124.
