Lawrence A. Brosmer, age 92 of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 5:25 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
Lawrence was born in Schnellville, Indiana on July 24, 1928 to Joseph A. and Matilda K. (Gunselman) Brosmer. He married Pauline Mehringer on October 6, 1951 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. She preceded him in death on December 29, 2019.
Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #493 in St. Anthony, Indiana.
He was a farmer in the Schnellville area and also retired from Aristokraft Cabinets in Jasper.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Schnellville Community Club, and the Schnellville Conservation Club.
He enjoyed going to auctions and antique tractor shows, spending time on the farm, and he always reserved Sunday for attending church and spending time with his family. His family was the focus of his life.
Surviving are five daughters, Mary Fromme (Joseph), Jasper, Karen Fuhrman (Glenn), Schnellville, Rose Loepker (Donald), Schnellville, Susan Merkley (George), St. Anthony, Janice Thayer (Douglas), Schnellville, four sons; Paul Brosmer (Julia), Schnellville, Eugene Brosmer, and fiancé, Linda Fendel, Schnellville, Larry Brosmer, Schnellville, John Brosmer (Diane), Schnellville, 17 grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death beside his wife were three grandchildren, Joseph Fromme Jr., Robert Kern, and Nathan Brosmer, four sisters; Dorothy Messmer, Anna Mae Brosmer, Veronica Hochgesang, and Catherine Hartings, and five brothers; Isidore, Cletus, Edward, Philip, and Joseph Brosmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence A Brosmer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The American Legion Post #493 will conduct military graveside rites.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday. Mask and Social Distancing will be required for the visitation and Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund, or to a favorite charity.
