HOLLAND — Police arrested a man after a traffic stop late Monday night in the Holland Park.
A Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a Ford passenger car driving in Holland’s park at 11:58 p.m. The park closes at 11 p.m.
A traffic stop occurred after the deputy conducted a records check on the car that returned to someone with a suspended license.
Police allege the driver, Robert K. Orebaugh Jr., 30, 1907 N. Chestnut St., Huntingburg, exhibited signs of impairment and told the deputy he had smoked methamphetamine 20 minutes prior to the traffic stop.
A search of the vehicle found a pipe for smoking methamphetamine and a small amount of the drug, according to the sheriff’s office.
A blood test at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center allegedly found methamphetamine in Orebaugh’s system and placed his blood alcohol content at .10%.
Authorities booked Orebaugh into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:45 a.m. today on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony methamphetamine possession and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated and possession of paraphernalia.
