Lasher named new Bombers manager

HUNTINGBURG — Dubois County Bombers general manager Joe Mundy announced Wednesday coaching changes for the 2015 summer season with the promotion of Andy Lasher to head manager position.

“We are excited to elevate Andy to lead our team next year at the recommendation of both the past manager Wes Fink and pitching coach Greg Gogel,” Mundy said in a statement.

Lasher, a Newburgh native, joined the Bombers this past season as an assistant field manager. He played college baseball at Olney Central College in 2010 and ’11, before finishing his career at the University of Evansville in ’12 and ’13. Lasher graduated with a business administration degree from UE and is currently an assistant coach at Olney Central College.

Both Fink and Gogel will stay connected with the Bombers for the 2015 season. Fink will concentrate on player recruitment, and Gogel will continue to work with the Bomber pitching staff on a limited basis as he juggles that work with his recent appointment as head baseball coach at Heritage Hills High School.
