Lane weaving ends with OWI accusation

From Local Sources

A Perry County woman went to jail accused of impaired driving early Saturday morning after an Indiana State Police trooper allegedly observed the vehicle she was driving weaving in its lane of travel.

The trooper stopped the 1997 Pontiac being driven by Lajuana J. Braunecker, 59, Tell City, near Third and College avenues after the vehicle reportedly drove across the centerline and ran off the roadway at 1:41 a.m.

Braunecker’s blood alcohol content allegedly registered .11 percent at the Jasper Police Station.

Authorities booked Braunecker into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:43 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. She posted bond early that afternoon.
