LAMAR — 18-year-old Becky Greulich of Lamar has written a book about her five-year ordeal with scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine.

In “My Scoliosis Story: One Girl’s Journey from Diagnosis to Spinal Fusion Surgery,” Greulich details the trials and tribulations she faced after being diagnosed with the spinal disorder by a nurse practitioner at Dale Family Medicine in 2011. She was 10 years old at the time. After wearing a back brace for more than three years, she ultimately underwent a surgical procedure in 2016 to straighten her spine.

Working with Stuart Englert, her second cousin and a book editor in Nashville, Tennessee, Greulich lengthened and polished her story last fall. Her 40-page book is now available in paperback and e-book on amazon.com and other retail book outlets. Signed copies are available by writing the author at bgreulich15@gmail.com.
