VERNE — South Knox scored on a penalty kick near the end of the first half and never looked back against the Northeast Dubois boys' soccer team on Saturday.

The host Spartans tacked on three goals in the second half for a 4-0 disposal of the Jeeps.

“It was a game of missed opportunity,” NED coach Clive Williams stated. “The game was back and forth with both teams creating chances, but we just could not finish in either half of the game.”

The Jeeps booted five shots on goal in the first half and six more in the second half, but would not find the back of the net.

“We had some good looks with some one-on-one attempts, but we just could not get one past their goalie,” the Jeeps coach said.

It was the first Blue Chip Conference game and first overall game of the season for Northeast Dubois.

The Jeeps have another conference match on Thursday as they play host to Washington Catholic.
