Kurt D. Ackerman, 58, Southington, Conn.June 7, 2021
Kurt D. Ackerman, 58, of Southington, passed away on June 3, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Kuebler) Ackerman.
Kurt was born on April 1, 1963 in Jasper, IN the son of Frances A. (Schulte) Ackerman and the late Vincent Ackerman. He was a graduate of Jasper High School in 1981 and the University of Evansville in 1985 with a BS in communications. Kurt had worked for ABC Channel 7 in Evansville, IN for 3 years. He then worked for CBS WJBK in Detroit, MI for 8 years. Currently he has been with ESPN in Bristol for the past 25 years as the Director of Sports Center, NASCAR, NBA and First Take.
In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by his two sons Andrew and David Ackerman both of Southington, his sister Karen and husband Randy Caldermeyer of Stendal, IN and brother Keith Ackerman of Jasper, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St. Southington, CT. Burial will follow at South End Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 9th from 4-8 pm. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT
