Knights slip by Cats

From Herald Staff Reports

It’s all about life on the road this week for the Jasper girls golf team, and the Wildcats received a different result Wednesday in Day 2 of the road tour.

Castle (180) collected an 11-stroke victory against Jasper (191) at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh, following Jasper’s road match Tuesday in which the Wildcats stormed to a 64-stroke victory against Tell City. Wednesday, Maddie Wagner and Gillian Blessinger each fired a 44 to share team-best honors for Jasper, while Hannah Erny posted the top backup for the Cats with her 50. Haley Schroeder (53), Hannah Welp (53) and Brynn Leinenbach (57) completed the Wildcat scoring.

Jasper visits Huntingburg Country Club this afternoon to face Southridge, then the Cats play their fourth road match of the week Saturday when they head to the Bloomington South Invitational.
