KlubHaus 61 new name of clubhouseApril 15, 2013
From local sources
JASPER — KlubHaus 61 is the new name for the former Jasper Country Club clubhouse. The clubhouse is owned by Alpine Enterprises, the parent company of the Schnitzelbank Restaurant.
Owners and siblings Gail Hettinger and Alan Hanselman formed a committee to find a name that pays homage to the building’s history as the former country club and has a German twist. The committee chose to incorporate the number into the name because Schnitzelbank owners Larry and Betty Hanselman opened that restaurant in 1961.
Alpine Enterprises gained ownership of this facility in January and demolished the building’s interior.
Several walls, furniture, fixtures and flooring were removed. The project’s architects, Universal Design Associates, have designed an open floor plan to maximize the interior space and increase the venue’s overall seating capacity. Last week, Streicher Construction began its part of the work.
The remodeling of the building is expected to be completed in late August, and reservations are being taken for September and beyond. To reserve the facility for an event, call Schnitzelbank Catering at 634-2584.
