Charmian Klem has filed her candidacy for a second term to the Dubois County Council, District 3 seat.
Klem, 37, of Bretzville in Jackson Township, represents District 3, which consists of Columbia, Hall, Ferdinand, Jackson, Jefferson and Marion townships in their entirety.
Klem graduated Summa Cum Laude with Academic Honors from Heritage Hills High School in 1998. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German and Math Education, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Southern Indiana in 2002. During the summer of 2002, she studied at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
“Serving the residents of District 3 and all of Dubois County is energizing. The projects we have undertaken in the last three years have taken much initiative and the results are encouraging. I am excited to continue my service with enthusiasm in order to advance our momentum as a county.”
Committees and boards on which Klem serves include Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission, liaison to the Soil and Water Conservation District, County Wage/Compensation Study, Communication Committee and the Employee Satisfaction Survey.
Klem has been a self-employed Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for 14 years. She also manages accounts for her family’s business, Steckler Grassfed LLC.
Charmian and her husband, Barry, have three children, Nora, 9, Ty, 7, and Ada, 6 months. She has been homeschooling their children since January 2013. Klem has been a member of Redemption Christian Church in Jasper since 2007. Her hobbies include gardening, walking and reading. Charmian is the daughter of Jerry and the late Marsha Steckler of St. Henry.
