Kimberley Jo Higgins, 56, New Palestine

Kimberley Jo (Christle) Higgins, age 56, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on November 29, 1964 to Larry Jo Christle and Alice Jane (Mehne) Christle. She graduated from New Palestine High School in 1983 and earned her bachelor's degree from Ball State University in Speech Pathology and Audiology. On March 28, 1987, she married Douglas Eric Higgins in Cumberland, Indiana.

Kim worked for Hancock Regional Hospital for 27 years as a certified pharmacy technician. She was a member at Cumberland Christian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, reading, sewing, music, gardening, and spending time outside in her yard. Kimberley loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandson Nolan.

Kim is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Higgins of New Palestine; parents, Larry and Alice Christle of New Palestine; children, Donovan Higgins (Amber Murphy) and Derek Higgins (Maggie); grandson, Nolan Higgins; step grandchildren, Lily and Trenton Kirchner; brother, Randall Christle of New Palestine; best friend, Karen Flynn; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Cumberland Christian Church, 39 N Starter St, Cumberland, IN 46229. A funeral service will follow the visitation at noon. Pastor Tom Scott will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Clarksburg. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
