Kimball announces new officerJune 21, 2013
JASPER — Kimball International today announced the promotion and appointment of Lonnie P. Nicholson to the newly created position of vice president of business analytics. He will oversee strategic application of data analysis, social media and mobile computing.
According to a company news release, the appointment “reflects the company’s commitment to growth of its information management into more ”˜predictive’ analysis to build greater responsiveness to customer needs and improvement of operational decision-making.”
Nicholson, 49, will have responsibility for the conduct of ongoing research and assessments of analytic tools, benchmarking best practices, providing strategic thought leadership, coaching and counseling to Kimball International’s business units’ leaders and operations teams, as well as assisting units with mentoring and internal talent development in these fields. His appointment is effective June 30.
Nicholson joined Kimball’s corporate information technology department in 1986 and has held various technical, operational and management positions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Indiana University, holds a professional certification as a Global Professional in Human Resources and performed postgraduate work in executive education at IU’s Kelley School of Business.
He, his wife and three children live in Jasper.
