Kevin Charles Altman, 59, of Byron Center, Mich.

Kevin Charles Altman, 59, of Byron Center, Michigan, formerly of Jasper, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, after his second battle with leukemia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Louis Altman and Ruth Marie (Buechlein) Altman.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; children Ginamaria Trello, Giovanni and Megan Trello, Nathaniel Christian and Kelsi Altman and Jacob Andrew Altman; grandchildren, Alexandra, Juliann and Victoria; brothers and sisters, Patrick, Mary, David and Joan; and by his nephew, David.

Kevin graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville and was also a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine.

He practiced medicine as a Neurologist for 29 years beginning in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and in 2008 came to practice Neurology at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He created wonderful memories for his family with his passion and love for life. He was a loving, kind, and spirited husband and father who will be greatly missed by his family, co-workers and by the many patients whose lives he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Adalbert, 654 Davis Ave. NW, with Monsignor Louis Stasker and Father Dan Schumaker as concelebrants.

The family will greet friends and relatives at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, on Wednesday, November 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
