Kendall named Democratic party chair

Michael Kendall has been named the new chairman of the Dubois County Democratic Party.

The party selected Kendall during a caucus Wednesday evening at the Arnold F. Habig Community Center. He replaces Joe Huddleston in the position.

A native of Jasper, Kendall was a lawyer and practiced employment, civil rights, and environmental law in Jasper and Evansville from 1976 to 1990 and in Indianapolis from 1990 to 2012, when he retired. In the past, he held the District 49 State Senator seat, worked on several Democratic candidates’ campaigns and has run for a U.S. Senate seat.

He and his wife, Teresa, moved back to Jasper in August. They have two adult children.
