Kendall elected 8th District Democratic Secretary

By Herald Staff

Jasper resident Teresa Kendall, communications director for the Dubois County Democratic Party, and 2020 Democratic House District 63 candidate, was elected the Secretary of the 8th Congressional District Democratic Party. Kendall was opposed by Sandy Stewart, former, long-time, Knox County Democratic Chair until the March 7 reorganization.

“I am looking forward to increasing communications and supporting the 8th District Democrat County parties, as well as assisting our new chair Thomasina Marsili," Kendall said.

Thomasina Marsili, 2020 Democratic 8th District Congressional candidate from Owen County, was elected the new Chairperson for the 8th Congressional District Democratic Party on Saturday for a term of four years, from 2021-2025. Re-elected without opposition for District Vice-Chairperson and District Treasurer, respectively, were Ed Adams and Jeff Lehman.

The 2021 8th District Democratic Meeting was the first virtual election held by the party, because of COVID-19. The District Chairs and Vice-Chairs from all nine Congressional Districts in Indiana will hold a virtual meeting on Saturday, March 20, to elect a new state committee.
