Kathleen “Cotty” Walters, 94, of Dale, died on Monday, March 25, 2019, at Willowdale.
Cotty was born Nov. 3, 1924, in Dale to Daniel and Vernita (Herr) Thorpe and graduated from Dale High School in 1943. After graduation she moved to Evansville and worked for the Republic Aviation Corp. as a “Rosie the Riveter.” On October 27, 1945, she married Daniel W. Walters, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2003.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Jeanette Young; and brothers, Ralph and Jim Thorpe.
She is survived by two children, Daniel M. (Kathy) Walters and Mary Ellen (Roger) Seifrig; five grandchildren]; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in law, Pearllean Thorpe, Eloise Gunselman and Ruth Butler.
Funeral Services are planned for 11 a.m. CT Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Dale Presbyterian Church, 6 N. Main St., Dale. Burial will follow in the Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. CT at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dale Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimers Association.
