During a visit to the downtown Jasper fire station Thursday morning, Trinity Tree House preschoolers had the opportunity to try on different fireman’s gear, practiced spraying the hose and learned about fire safety from Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Hochgesang, left, helped preschooler Oaklie Buchta spray water during the visit. “They light up when they spray the hose and try on the coats,” Hochgesang said. “And they learn something while they’re here and then share that information with their parents.”

Chloe Schepers, left, Oaklie Buchta, Jack Zink and Lucas Buechler tried on their plastic fireman's helmets.

Hochgesang, left, presented Ayden Waninger with a red fireman's hat during the school's visit to the fire station Thursday morning.

Hochgesang, left, helped  Farrah Holsworth try on a fireman's coat. "It's heavy isn't it?" Hochgesang asked Farrah.
