June incident leads to warrant arrest

JASPER — A woman charged with drug-related counts who failed to appear for an initial hearing was jailed Monday after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Bambi R. Wyatt, 40, Loogootee, was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:22 p.m. on a Dubois Superior Court warrant. She is charged with a Level 6 felony count of methamphetamine possession and a misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.

Court documents state the charges stem from a June 20 incident in which the Jasper Police Department was called at 7:55 a.m. to the report of a suspicious female sleeping inside a car at the CVS Pharmacy at 617 W. Sixth St.

The car, with Wyatt in the back set, was reported to have been at the store since midnight. Wyatt was described as acting very disoriented when approached and having severely constricted pupils.

A Huntingburg Police Department K-9 assisting during the investigation allegedly indicated on the car, allowing police to find two glass pipes containing burnt residue, a straw with burnt residue and a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Wyatt was given a July 11 court date at the time and, when she did not appear, authorities issued the warrant for her arrest.
