July Programs at Ferdinand Branch Library

Stories for Littles: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Sometimes songs, sometimes crafts but always a story or two.

July 1: Animal Tales at the YMCA, 1:30 p.m., Get up close and personal with unique animals like you’ve never seen before. All ages welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

July 1: Afternoon Book Club, 2 p.m., Each month we discuss our last book selection. The next month's book selection will be passed out to the group at the end of the meeting. Stop by the library if you are interested in attending the Book Club and we will get you a copy of the current selection.

July 1: Genealogy Workshop, 6 p.m., Learn how to complete a family history workbook using the library’s genealogy resources. Workbook provided. Registration required. Open to adults.

July 8: Professor Steve at the YMCA, 1:30 p.m., Lots of science, lots of interaction and lots of fun for all ages. Everyone welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

July 10: Basement Book Sale by Friends of the Ferdinand Library, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardbacks. Please enter the library basement inside or by using the outside north door near the Community Center parking lot.

July 12: Canvas Painting, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Join one of two sessions. We will be using mixed medias such as cardstock, pom poms, and sequins with shaving cream-puffy paint to create one-of-a-kind ice cream cone paintings. Registration required. Reserved for those ages.

July 14: Storytime with a Purpose: “Personal Space Camp,” 1 p.m., Presented by Prevention Specialist Natalie Bolin. Story, craft and activities. For children Pre-K through elementary and their caregivers. Registration required.

July 15: Where the Wild Show Is at the YMCA, 1:30 p.m., Professor Tony juggles, performs magic tricks and entertains! All ages welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

July 19: Button Making, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Join one of two sessions where we will be designing our own buttons and assembling them on our button-making machine. All ages welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration required.

July 21: Physical Activity Across the Lifespan, 1:30 p.m., Chelsea Brewer from Dubois Extension teaches the importance of movement. Reserved for adults please. Registration required.

July 21: Adult Evening Book Club, 6:30 p.m., Each month we discuss our last book selection. The next month's book selection will be passed out to the group at the end of the meeting. July 22: Adult Craft, 6 to 7:45 p.m., Paint and decoupage a wooden recipe box. Registration will open on July 1. Registration is required.

July 24: Loom Knitting, 1 to 3:30 p.m., Learn to loom knit using the library’s looms. Use our supplies or bring your own. All ages welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration needed.

July 30: Last day of Summer Learning Program.

July 31: Just Humming Along Learn about the ruby-throated hummingbird. Make a hummingbird feeder from recycled materials. All ages welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration required.
