JMS announces spelling bee winnersJanuary 14, 2020
JASPER — The Jasper Middle School spelling bee’s final round was held Friday, Jan. 10. Approximately 90 students competed in grade-level preliminary rounds throughout the week of Dec. 10.
After those rounds, 25 contestants competed in the finals. After 32 competitive rounds, emerging as the champion was sixth-grader Ervin Williams, son of Aaron and Cassie Williams. Eighth-grader Caroline Buechlein, daughter of John and Amy Buechlein, was runner-up.
Ervin will take a screening test to qualify for the Evansville Area Regional Spelling Bee that will be held at the Academy for Innovative Studies on Saturday, Feb. 29.
