Father Jack Durchholz witnessed the marriage vows of Jessica R. Lange and Joshua A. Hilsmeyer, both of Huntingburg. The 2 p.m. ceremony took place Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.
Dick and Jane Lange of Ferdinand and Karen and Terry Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg are parents of the couple.
Jared Kerstiens of Folcom, Calif., cousin of the bride, sang as Steve Oeding of Tell City, godfather of the bridegroom, played the guitar and Kendra Leckrone of West Lafayette, friend of the bride, played the piano.
Mr. Lange gave his daughter in marriage. The bride chose a side-draped, A-line gown of white satin with a beaded inset, a laced-up back and a chapel train. She wore her mother’s lace-trimmed, cathedral-length veil and carried a bouquet of bright orange lilies, yellow and orange mums and dark orange berries.
Brooke Marks of Jasper, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Other attendants were Kyana Carrico of Fishers and Misti Dorsam of Las Vegas, Nev., friends; Jenny Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, sister-in-law of the bridegroom; Jessica Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, sister of the bridegroom; and Valerie Lange of Schnellville, sister-in-law of the bride. Flower girls were Makenna Peter of Huntingburg, godchild of the bridegroom; Mickinzie Marks of Jasper, cousin of the bride; and Addison Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, godchild of the couple.
They wore full-length, royal blue satin gowns in styles they had chosen.
Best man was Jeff Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Ryan Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, cousin of the bridegroom; Josh Lange of Schnellville, brother of the bride; and Kurt Oeding and Kevin Luebbehusen of Ferdinand and Jared Merter of Huntingburg, friends. Ushers were Justin Hilsmeyer of Holland, cousin of the bridegroom, and Matt Steckler of Ferdinand, friend of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Lange chose a brown, A-line gown with embellishments and a matching jacket. Mrs. Hilsmeyer wore a black gown with a gathered keyhole accent and a sequined jacket.
Morgan and Mallory Peter of Huntingburg registered guests at the reception held at the Ferdinand Community Center.
The couple is at home in Huntingburg after a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico.
The bride graduated from Forest Park High School in Ferdinand in 2001 and received a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2004 and a Master of Science in mental health counseling in 2007, both from Indiana State University. She is employed at Freedom Bank. Mr. Hilsmeyer, a 2001 graduate of Southridge High School in Huntingburg, received an Associate of Applied Science in electronics and computer technology from Ivy Tech in 2004. He is employed by Jasper Electric Motors.
