Jeeps, Pats both win in overtime

All four local boys basketball teams who played on Friday won, and two of them went to overtime. The Dubois County Herald is here to get you up to speed on those two games.

Prep Boys Basketball

Northeast Dubois 43, Orleans 40: The Jeeps (4-0) grinded out on Friday with an overtime win on the road. Senior Reece Bauer paced the team with 19 points. Northeast Dubois went 13-for-29 at the free throw line, but still found a way to win. The Jeeps scored five points in overtime, but held the Bulldogs to a single bucket. Northeast Dubois is back at it 8:00 p.m. Saturday at home against Evasville Day.

Heritage Hills 75, North Posey 67: The Patriots (3-0) rallied for 14 points in overtime to win their home opener on Friday. Senior Simon Scherry made all eight free throws and helped the team go 20-for-27 at the charity stripe. He finished with a team-high 25 points. Junior Blake Sisley was right behind him with 24 and senior Cole Sigler scored 17. The Patriots will play 12:40 p.m. Saturday at Southport against Brownsburg.
