Jeeps rally for comeback victory

From Herald Staff Reports

After two sets on Monday night against Pike Central in Petersburg, the Northeast Dubois volleyball team founds itself on the wrong end of a two-set deficit for the fourth time this season. On the previous three occasions, Loogootee, Tecumseh and Barr-Reeve ended the Jeeps’ night quickly with third-set defeats.

On Monday, Northeast Dubois had something to say about that.

The Class 1A No. 8 Jeeps rolled through the next three sets for a 24-26, 23-25, 25-12, 25-20, 15-10 comeback victory. The Jeeps (17-6), who lost the first two sets by a total of four points, won the next three by a combined 23.

Kendra Jacob was her usual self, scorching the Chargers for 24 kills and adding 12 digs. Emily Lueken also recorded double-digit totals with 10 kills and 23 digs, while Jenna Stemle led all Jeeps with 24 digs. Haley Brinkman chipped in nine kills, Talia Terwiske dished out 39 assists and Chloe Johnson added 14 digs for Northeast Dubois, which will visit county rival Southridge (2-18) on Thursday.
