Jeep swimmers receive honors

DUBOIS — The Northeast Dubois swimming team dished out awards Monday at its postseason awards banquet. Kaitlyn Bauer and Lucas Schulthies earned MVP honors while Schulthies also grabbed the career achievement award and shared the team leadership award with Zach Wittmann.

Other awards went to Wittmann (Jeep Swimmer of the Year), Kobi Knies (most improved), Caleb Scherzinger (mental attitude), Whitley Kluesner (mental attitude, team leadership), Taylor Knight (most improved) and Haley Brinkman (team spirit).

Schulthies also received a certificate for competing in the state finals in the 50-yard freestyle and was recognized for setting a new school record in the 100 freestyle. Also, Jalen Seger, Scherzinger,
Wittmann and Schulthies were acknowledged for their school-record time in the 200 freestyle relay.
