Jeep collides with deer near Patoka Lake

PATOKA LAKE — A Harrison County woman avoided injury when the Jeep she was driving collided with a deer Wednesday afternoon near Patoka Lake.

Jill M. Mayfield, 39, Lanesville, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2016 Jeep Wrangler when the 4:15 p.m. accident occurred east of County Road 1100E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Mayfield’s Jeep collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the north.

Damage was estimated at $1,500.
