Jasper's Ruhe selected as HBCA All-Star

Jasper senior girls basketball player Kortney Ruhe was selected by the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association as one of their 2019 regional All-Stars. She'll also get to participate in the 2019 Spring Classic at Bloomington North High School.

Ruhe was one of the top 12 vote-getters from the West region which led to her being selected to compete in the showcase.

She will be joined on the West team by Bedford North Lawrence’s Jorie Allen, Bloomfield’s Malea Toon, Bloomington South’s Addy Blackwell, Castle’s Jessica Nunge, Cloverdale’s Tori Combs, Gibson Southern’s Tabby Klem, Loogootee’s Tyanna Graber, North Knox’s Makinzi Meurer, Vincennes Lincoln’s Alison Hein, Vincennes Rivet’s Grace Waggoner and Washington’s Lindsay Moody.

Ruhe finished her senior year as Jasper’s leading scorer with 12.8 points per game, including a 34-point outburst against conference foe Boonville.

She also shot 31 percent from three-point, 74 percent from the charity stripe, grabbed 104 total rebounds, chalked up 50 assists, 30 steals and 36 pass deflections.
