Jasper woman arrested for possession of meth, marijuana

A Jasper woman was arrested Monday for possession of illegal drugs.

Amber Mahan, 34, was stopped by a Jasper Police Department officer for allowing a juvenile to ride in the bed of a pickup truck while on the road. While speaking with Mahan, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle showed that Mahan was in possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Mahan was charged with possession of meth, a Level 6 Felony, possession of marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor. She was transported to the Dubois County Security Center. JPD was assisted by Ruxer’s towing service.
