Jasper woman arrested for domestic battery

JASPER — A Jasper woman was arrested after police were dispatched to the scene of a domestic battery early Sunday morning.
When Jasper Police Department officers arrived at 322 S. Meridian Rd. around 2 a.m., they located a male resident with a laceration to his upper lip.
According to a press release, after officers spoke to the victim and a witness at the location, it was determined that after causing a verbal disturbance, a female resident at the location, Laura Stallings, 44, Jasper, allegedly struck the victim in the face with a full glass whiskey bottle, causing the injury to his face.
The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center by a friend to get treated for his injuries.
Stallings was preliminarily charged with felony domestic battery with a deadly weapon and was booked in the Dubois County Security Center without bond.
