Jasper VFW Post 673 Auxiliary held August meetingSeptember 3, 2020
JASPER — Jasper VFW Post 673 Auxiliary held its regular monthly meeting on August 19 at the post home. President Carrie Vonderheide called the meeting to order, conducted opening ceremonies, and gave the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
Secretary Connie Thewes read one petition for new membership. The investigating committee found the petition to be in order. A voice vote was taken, and there was a unanimous decision to accept the petition for membership as recommended by the committee.
Minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed by the secretary and approved with one correction as ordered.
Treasurer Diane Brescher read the monthly financial reports for June and July. The reports were filed subject to audit.
In absence of Chaplain Linda Reuber, Diane Brescher shared that a note of appreciation was received from the family of Ida Mae Welp for expressions of sympathy they received from the auxiliary.
On the business of audits, President Vonderheide reminded that audits will be conducted at the November meeting.
Closing ceremonies were conducted in accordance with the ritual and, and the meeting was closed with prayer by President Vonderheide, after which the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be Sept. 16, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at the post home. All members are invited to attend. The recommended COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.
