Jasper VFW Post 673 Auxiliary held its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 21, 2020, at the post home. President Carrie Vonderheide called the meeting to order and conducted opening ceremonies. Chaplain Linda Reuber gave the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
The secretary reports that there are no petitions for new membership this month.
There were two petitions from members to rejoin. The Investigating Committee found the two petitions to be in order. A voice vote was taken, and there was a unanimous decision to accept the two rejoining members.
Minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed by the secretary, corrected as ordered, and approved as corrected.
General Orders #5 from VFW Auxiliary Dept. of Indiana were read and filed for reference. Also read were greetings from Dept. of Indiana President, Anna Mauk, and Executive Order No. 1 from National President, Sandra Onstwedder.
Treasurer Diane Brescher read the monthly financial report. The report was filed subject to audit.
On the business of the Patriots Pen Contest, entry forms will be picked up from the schools by Oct. 31, 2020.
The District 8 fall 2020 meeting will be hosted by Jasper VFW Post #673 at the post home. The meeting date is Sunday, Nov. 15, with opening ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. Donuts and coffee will be served prior to the start time, but there will be no meal following the meeting. COVID-19 safety guidelines will be observed.
Audits of auxiliary books will be conducted at the November meeting.
Closing ceremonies were conducted in accordance with the ritual. The meeting was closed with prayer by Chaplain Reuber, after which the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be Nove. 18, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at the post home. The recommended COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed. All members are invited to attend.
