Jasper totals 376 in golf debut

Four golfers shot under triple digits to help Jasper to a score of 376 in its 2020 debut Monday at the Bloomington South Invitational. The Wildcats trotted out all juniors in this one, finishing in ninth place out of 19 teams.
Halle Knies led the way with a 91, while Elizabeth Ackerman was right behind her by shooting a 92. Avery Bartley grabbed third with a 94, whereas junior Ainsley Pierce kept her total just below 100 by shooting a 99. Junior Anna Schmitt totaled 100 on the day.
Evansville North junior Faith Johnson and Carmel senior Katie Kuc tied with the lowest individual score at 68. North shot a 286 as a team, one better than Carmel’s 287, to win the event.
Jasper’s golfers will now have a layoff with time to practice as it gets ready for its next event on Aug. 13 in French Lick against Springs Valley.
