Jasper tennis wins again
August 19, 2020
High school sports don't always happen on a Wednesday, but after mother nature interfered with Tuesday's plans, teams got on the tennis court a day later. The Herald is here to catch you up to speed
Boys Tennis
Jasper 3, Terre Haute South 2: Doubles play carried the Wildcats here as the Braves gave them a tough time on the singles side. Senior Canaan Sellers of Terre Haute South bested Jasper junior Justin Shultz in one-singles play.
Wildcats junior Max Sternberg evened things in two-singles when he bested Terre Haute South senior Matt Roberts. However, Braves senior Caleb Morris broke the singles tie when he got the better of Jasper sophomore Reece Lampert.
Jasper got better news out of the doubles side. Seniors Grant Stratton and Bennett Schmitt lifted the Wildcats to a one-doubles win against Braves seniors Steve Kallubhavi and Cameron Faro.
The Wildcats had their two-doubles also take care of business when seniors Jobe Luebbehusen and Hudson Himsel were winners as well.
Jasper is next scheduled to compete at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the Jeffersonville Invitational.
