Jasper softball moves to 10-0April 19, 2021

Jasper made the trip to Kentucky Saturday, but the result was the same, with a 7-1 win at Daviess County.
Junior Megan Matheis got the scoring started in the second inning for the Wildcats (10-0) with a leadoff home run to center. Jasper would plate two in the second, third and seventh innings and one in the fifth for a total of seven runs on 11 hits. Senior Hannah Schwenk led the Wildcats hitting attack in their trip to Owensboro with four singles in four trips to the plate, while fellow senior Mia Werner went 3-for-4. Meanwhile, another senior, Kylie Patterson, was 2-for-3.
Werner picked up the complete game win for Jasper, allowing one run on five hits, five walks and nine strikeouts over seven innings of work. Sophomore Raylee Roby took the loss for the Panthers. Roby allowed four runs on six hits, two walks and four strikeouts. Senior Greysee Whiteker pitched the final three innings for Daviess County, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
The Wildcats are set to be back in action today at North Daviess.
