Michael Bies shot a 1-under-par for the Jasper boys golf team, and the Wildcats downed Southridge 146-173 on Thursday at Jasper Municipal Golf Course in the final dual meet of the season for both teams.
Will Seger carded a 36, Cam Weyer shot a 37 and Jacob Bartley returned a 38 for Jasper, which topped Southridge in a head-to-head meeting for the second time this season; the Cats edged the Raiders by six strokes April 18 at Huntingburg Country Club.
Tyler Gray shot a 39 to lead the Raiders. Beau Schneider added a 42, and Ian Mathies and Trey Reese each finished with a 46 for Southridge.
Both squads will have a week off until next Friday’s sectional at Sultan’s Run Golf Course in Jasper.
In other boys golf:
Wood Memorial triangular: Anders Holm shot a 40 and Trey Foltz added a 42 for Northeast Dubois (180), which produced its best nine-hole score of the season while finishing behind South Knox (171) and Wood Memorial (176) at Oakland City Golf Club. Avery Hammond and Jesse Hasenour each carded a 49 for the Jeeps in their last match of the regular season before next Friday’s sectional at Jasper.
