Jasper residents arrested for attempted murderOctober 12, 2021

OTWELL — A Jasper man and woman were arrested Monday for attempted murder after injuring two brothers in a stabbing incident at their residence in Otwell.
Chad Norris, 37, and Cory Norris, 38, arrived at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center Monday morning with stab wounds, according to Indiana State Police. Cory, who had minor injuries, drove himself and his brother to the hospital, while Chad suffered more serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
ISP officers initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information about the stabbing incident. Lloyd J. Carpenter, 37, and Emily Shelton, 24, both of Jasper, parked at an Otwell gas station around 8:30 a.m. Monday and walked to the Norris residence to allegedly rob them, preliminary investigation showed. Inside the residence, Shelton allegedly struck Chad before Carpenter allegedly stabbed both brothers. Carpenter and Shelton then fled the scene.
Detectives arrested Shelton around noon at a residence in Birdseye, and Carpenter was arrested around 5 p.m. by ISP Sgt. Det. Brock Werne after he emerged from a wooded area near County Road 300 North and County Road 175 East in Dubois County.
Shelton was arrested for attempted murder, a Level 1 felony; battery, a Class B misdemeanor; and conspiracy to commit robbery, a Level 3 felony. She was taken to the Pike County Jail and is being held without bond.
Carpenter was arrested for attempted murder, a Level 1 felony; aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony; and conspiracy to commit robbery, a Level 3 felony. He is also being held without bond in the Pike County Jail.
This is an ongoing investigation. Investigating officers included Sgt. Det. Brad Chandler, Det. Ryan Wilson, Werne and Trooper Nick Hatfield.
