Jasper police seek hit-and-run driver

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help as officers investigate a Thursday afternoon leaving-the-scene accident.
Police were called at 3:50 p.m. in reference to a white Jeep Grand Cherokee running over a street sign and a stop sign near the intersection of Jackson Street and River Centre Landing.
The SUV fled the scene, police said, adding that witnesses said there was a female driver and a female passenger.
Anyone with information on the identities of the vehicle occupants is asked to call Jasper police at 812-482-2255 or the anonymous tip line: 812-481-COPS.
