JASPER — The Jasper Police Department arrested a man Sunday afternoon for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter, 4040 Newton St.
Store personnel detained Monty R. Beaty, 41, of 507 Village Court, until police could make the 12:58 p.m. arrest.
Beaty is alleged to have attempted to steal a Memorex pocket radio and a radar detector with a total value of $94.02.
Authorities booked Beaty into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:42 p.m. on a Class D felony count of theft. He posted bond later in the afternoon.
