Jasper police arrest alleged Walmart shoplifter

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department took a woman into custody Monday afternoon for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter, 4040 Newton St.
Police received a report of a suspected shoplifter being detained at 3:17 p.m. After an investigation that included a witness’ statement and a review of video surveillance footage, authorities arrested Alicia A. Hill, 27, Winslow.
Hill is alleged to have passed all points of sale with $510.13 in merchandise that included clothing, a backpack, an overnight bag, pet supplies and medical supplies.
Authorities booked Hill into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:29 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft. She was then granted a conditional release from the facility.
