Jasper police arrest alleged Walmart shoplifter

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department took a Jasper woman into custody late Tuesday afternoon for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter, 4040 N. Newton St.

Police received a report of a shoplifter detained by asset protection staff at 5:54 p.m.

Authorities allege Kendra L. Brown, 18, 426 W. 43rd St., Jasper, failed to pay for $137.06 worth of merchandise placed in a diaper bag. Items included a cactus, a T-shirt, shampoos, three deli sandwiches, a toothbrush, mouthwash, wart remover, supplements, two fingernail polishes, a pumice stone and two bottles of drinks.

Brown was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:49 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft.
