JASPER — The Jasper Police Department took a woman into custody Sunday evening for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter, 4040 N. Newton St.
Police were notified at 6:30 p.m. that Walmart asset protection staff had detained a woman for allegedly shoplifting.
After an investigation, police took Rose M. Miller, 50, 1725 Greene St., Jasper, into custody.
Authorities allege Miller paid for some items but not others, with the amount of the alleged theft placed at $26.96.
Miller was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:19 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft.
