JASPER — Dayvi W. Aleman-Cortez, 35, of 549 Circle Pine Drive, was taken into custody Friday on a Dubois Circuit Court warrant charging him with a Class D felony count of sexual battery.
The Jasper Police Department investigated the case with the assistance of the Dubois County Department of Child Services. An investigation was launched Aug. 3 when a woman came to the police station to report the inappropriate touching of a young teenage girl.
Police determined the incidents began in May.
A warrant for Aleman-Cortez’s arrest was issued Friday, the day of his arrest. Authorities booked him into the Dubois County Security Center at 6:50 p.m. that day.
