September 13, 2019From Local Sources

JASPER — Authorities booked a Jasper man into the Dubois County Security Center Thursday on a warrant charging him with drug dealing.
Charging information alleges Michael E. Norris, 36, 420 W. 43rd St., Jasper, was caught dealing methamphetamine and marijuana on Feb. 15. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper Police Department, Huntingburg Police Department and Indiana State Police were involved in the investigation.
A warrant charging Norris with a Level 5 felony count of dealing methamphetamine and a Level 6 felony count of dealing marijuana was issued out of Dubois Superior Court on Aug. 27.
Norris was booked into the security center at 12:53 a.m. Thursday on the active warrant.
During a Thursday court appearance, the court set Norris’ bond at $1,000 and ruled Norris could participate in pretrial work release until such time as a bond can be posted.
The felony marijuana count represents prosecutors seeking an enhanced penalty based upon a prior possession of marijuana conviction.
