Jasper man charged with boating while intoxicated

PATOKA LAKE — A Jasper man was charged with boating while intoxicated (test refusal) last week in Orange County.

Court documents state Lee E. Huebner, 62, 276 E. 300N, Jasper, was charged with the misdemeanor after allegedly operating a boat on Patoka Lake while intoxicated April 8.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office was called to the marina at 11:40 p.m. April 8 regarding a report of a boating accident involving a possibly impaired operator, according to court documents. A deputy reported that Huebner showed signs of intoxication, failed field sobriety testing and later refused certified testing at the Orange County Jail.

Court records state Huebner was later released on his own recognizance with an initial hearing in Orange Superior Court scheduled for July 13.
