Jasper man charged with attempted residential entry

JASPER — A man was charged with attempted residential entry Thursday morning after he was found intoxicated and trying to enter an apartment that wasn’t his.

The Jasper Police Department responded to the report of a man trying to enter into two different apartments. Upon arrival, officers found Luis Santos, 37, intoxicated, so he was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for medical clearance.

Santos was charged with public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor, criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor and attempted residential entry, a Level 6 felony. He was lodged in the Dubois County Jail.
