Jasper man accused of shoplifting

JASPER — Police placed a man under arrest Tuesday afternoon on allegations he shoplifted at a supermarket.

The Jasper Police Department was contacted at 12:22 p.m. by a Holiday Foods manager reporting a man had taken medication from the store without paying.

Within minutes, police say, officers located Jaden J. Lankford, 19, 910 E. Sixth St., Huntingburg, and the stolen item: cough and cold medicine valued at $1.59.

Authorities booked Lankford into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:49 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft.
