Jasper man accused of impaired driving

JASPER — A Jasper man was accused of impaired driving after a Friday evening traffic stop.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Gregory M. Hopkins, 26, 428 Third Ave., at 7:27 p.m. after the driver allegedly failed to stop at the 15th and Newton streets traffic light, nearly colliding with an officer’s vehicle.

Police allege Hopkins’ blood alcohol content exceeded .15%.

Authorities booked Hopkins into the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges that included misdemeanor operating while intoxicated. He later posted bond.
