JASPER — The Jasper Public Library has released its events for July.
The Lego Club will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Aug. 1. Lego bricks will be provided for creative building. Grades kindergarten and older may attend. No registration is required.
Duplo will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the library’s annex. Parents are invited to bring children ages 2 through 5 to build with the library’s Duplo blocks. No registration is required.
The Pokémon Playgroup will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Bring all things Pokémon and join other Pokémaniacs in the library annex to play, share and learn more about Pokémon games.
The library is closed on Sunday, Aug. 5, due to the Strassenfest parade.
The Bookworm Book Club will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7. Students in grades four through eight are invited to join the group in the theater for book discussion. Snacks and books are provided to participants.
Off the Hook: Needlecrafters will get together at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7. Needlecrafters may bring along their current projects and supplies and join this group for a night of sharing and crafting.
Morning baby and toddler playtime will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13. Toys will be available for children ages 2 and under to play with at the library annex during this playtime. No registration is required.
The Book Cellar is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. The Friends of the Library bookstore is open the third Saturday of each month. Look for a special book and support the library.
Make ‘N Take: Adult Crafting and DIY will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in the library annex. All supplies will be provided to create a fun project to take home. Preregistration is required.
Strings Inc. presents “Music Together” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the library annex. Ages up to 5 may join in with singing, playing, dancing and learning about music. Preregistration is required, beginning Aug. 16.
The adult book club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28. Ask the librarian for a copy of the book, “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult. The club meets the last Tuesday each month. New members are always welcome.
The Walkers’ Forum will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. All walkers are invited to this informal meeting to find out about walking towards being healthier. Ways to track walking and where to walk in Dubois County will be shared. Information will be given on the JPL walking Group. There will be a discussion on the 1,000 Mile Challenge and how participants are meeting the challenge.
Library hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
